Programmes

• QuarkXPress (up to version 5.0)
• Adobe Photoshop (up to version 6.0)
  International Standard for receipt / exchange of photo files: data formats
  • EPS
  • Tiff
  • JPG
  • BMP
  This list is in order of preference / quality, with eps being preferred. - Resolution (dpi - dots per inch) must not be under 250, preferably 300 dpi or better.
• Macromedia Freehand (up to version 9.0)
• Adobe Illustrator (up to version 9.0)
• Text files if possible by MS Word Document
• Corel Draw is NOT used

Data formats

• Open files (applies to all above listed programmes) all text and photos (4-colour) should be supplied in hard copy also
• EPS type included (embedded). PLEASE NOTE: EPS-Codes: binary, NOT ASCI or JPG: Colour: use 4-colour (NOT in RGB, LAB mode)
• PDF - as a rule produces with Acrobat-Distiller version 5.0 (HighEnd-Installation) with the following settings: PDF version 1.3 and Composite, all texts and photos (4-colour mode) need to be added.

Data Carriers

• Diskettes (3.5 inch/1.44 MB)
• ZIP disks (100 - 250 MB)
• CD (650-720 MB) - preferably full-size
• DVD
• Files up to 20MB may be sent by E-Mail

The data carrier can be formatted for both MacIntosh and for PC/Windows. If you wish to use other data carriers, please contact us beforehand.

Please ensure that your data carriers are clearly marked and include the following details

• proprietor, contact name, contact address
• contents list
• programme used and version, date

In all cases we require:

• Laser printout
• Colour print / proof
• or a layout guideline by fax

• please fax us a full paper print or a guidelines manuscript
• or send as Text file (simple text or ASCI file) with programme and version number
• size of advertisement, colours used, text and photos as appropriate
